About Me ✍️

Sometime during my adolescence a seed was planted, a subtle, yet undeniable voice that told me writing was something I was good at. However, fiction writing lacked practical elements and was, at first, not to be considered as a career. That changed as I’d gotten older and had already dedicated several years to serving in the U.S. Navy, later working in both the retail and manufacturing industries. I wasn’t a late-bloomer in terms of ability, though I was less-than committed to writing and was unaware that voluminous, thought-provoking works were well within my grasp.

Eventually, I discovered I had a mind for this. I was a creator. My swing in focus led me to commentary pieces, expressing my opinion about the direction our world was headed. Afterwards, I moved into full-fledged fiction in the form of short stories (equally sharing those opinions). That, I suppose, is my M-O.

Being single all my life has afforded me time, serving me well in producing something measurable and concrete (my words in print, a compelling book cover to jacket those words, words I’d once jotted down and eventually typed into a document and placed in areas where they could be scrutinized and given recommendations for improvement).

I’m originally from Long Island, New York. New Yorkers often try to live up to a reputation of having fight in them and being able to endure and I was not one to dishonor that reputation.  So, with a strong backing along the way, I’ve found the means to fine-tune an already substantial gift.

‘Going Way Away will be the result of a lot of hard work and dedication. It’s allowed me to manage life changes and has given me the tools to tell a better story. I now reside in a suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina, excited about this new chapter of my life while still juggling old chapters, even rewriting some of the old in hopes of a more refined ending. In that sense, life is often like the novels we create.
